Go-Ippan Kumite Kata
(attacking sides)

The attacking sides of Go-Ippan Kumite Kata have 3 basic sets of movement. By this it is meant that the first and second attacks are similar with the exception of the block, as are the third and fourth attacks. The fifth attack is different from either of the other attacks.

Attacks 1 & 2 (block Shuto Uchi and Tetsui Uchi)
Step forward right to Zenkutso Dachi, punch Jodan Seiken Zuki.
Step back right to left Zenkutso Dachi, left Gedan Barai.

Block left Jodan Uke (vs. Shuto Uchi) or Age Uke (vs. Tetsui Uchi).
Block right Chudan Uke, then left Chudan Uke.
Grab the opponent's arm with your left hand, and thrust Chudan Seiken Zuki.
Step back left to right Zenkutso Dachi, right Gedan Barai.

Attacks 3 & 4 (block Hariken Zuki and Kumade Uchi)
Step forward right to Zenkutso Dachi, punch Jodan Seiken Zuki.
Step back right to left Zenkutso Dachi, left Gedan Barai.

Shift back to left Neko-Ashi Dachi, Soto Uke (vs. Hariken Zuki) or Jodan Shuto Uke (vs. Kumade Uchi).
Block Chudan Uke right, Chudan Uke left.
Grab the opponent's arm with your left hand and kick Mae Geri left.
Step back left to right Zenkutso Dachi, right Gedan Barai.

Attack 5 (block Tate Zuki)
Step forward right to Zenkutso Dachi, punch Jodan Seiken Zuki.
Step back right to left Zenkutso Dachi, left Gedan Barai.

Shift slightly back with the left leg to left Sochin Dachi, Kage Shuto Uke.
Block Chudan Uke right, Chudan Uke left.
Grab the opponent's arm with your left hand and kick Heisoku Geri right.
Step back left to right Zenkutso Dachi, right Gedan Barai.
