This kick is done from Hachichi Dachi. Guard hands are set in front of the body and the attacker looks behind to judge target position. Body weight is shifted to the leg which is not kicking and the kicking leg is lifted next to the body. Twisting at the hip the leg should be bent but following the plane of the ground as nearly as possible then extended straight back (not snapped) leaving some play in the knee when fully extended. The target should be struck with the heel of the foot with the toes pointed back.
