Pinan Godan Description
The Kata Pattern
Again the individual starts from Heisoku Dachi and bows Ten Chi Kenpo style
giving respect to the teaching that comes from the kata. Then step off to
Kiba Dachi, Morate Gedan Barai.
Quarter left turn to left Neko-Ashi Dachi, left Chudan Uke. Left Sochin
Dachi, right Chudan Seiken Zuki. Left Otoshi Teisho Uke, right Uraken
Uchi. Pivot on the left heel clockwise to face East, right Neko-Ashi
Dachi, right Chudan Uke. Right Sochin Dachi, left Chudan Seiken Zuki.
Right Otoshi Teisho Uke, left Uraken Uchi.
Left Kikentana, step in and left with your right foot to right Sochin
Dachi facing North. Right Chudan Uke, left Tate Zuki, kia. Step forward
left to Sochin Dachi, Gedan Juji Uke. Shift forward (no step), Jodan Juji
Uke (shuto), left Gedan Barai. Step forward to right Sochin Dachi, right
Jodan Seiken Zuki. Step straight back to South facing Yoko Kiba Dachi
(body is East), right Gedan Barai. Mawashi Uraken Uchi, face North (same
stance), slow attention left Mawashi Shuto Uchi. Open the left hand, step
North to right Yoko Kiba Dachi (still facing North), right Empi Uchi.
Step behind with the left leg to Kage Dachi, right Chudan Uke, left Tate
Zuki (all to the North), kia. Step out left to Neko-Ashi Dachi (South)
but Ura Zuki right with left augment to the North.
Jump on the left foot to the South, but facing East. Land on the right
and bring the left behind to Kage Dachi, ground level Gedan Juji Uke.
Step right to South facing right Sochin Dachi, right Chudan Uke, left Tate
Zuki, kia. Shift (no step) to left Sochin Dachi, right Gedan Teisho Zuki,
left Teisho Uke. Shift to Gyaku Zenkutso Dachi, right Jodan Uke, left
Gedan Barai. Shift back with the left leg to Heisoku Dachi, then around
with the right to West facing right Sochin Dachi, left Gedan Teisho Zuki,
right Teisho Uke. Shift back to Gyaku Zenkutso Dachi, left Jodan Uke,
right Gedan Barai.
Shift back and face North, Kiba Dachi Morate Gedan Barai. Stand to
Heisoku Dachi, bow.
